The Backyard Beekeeper Workshop is a hands-on, beginner-friendly experience designed to give you the confidence and knowledge to start and care for your own hive. Whether you’re curious about pollinators, dreaming of harvesting your own honey, or simply want to learn something new, this workshop will guide you every step of the way.

What You’ll Learn

• Honey bee biology and colony roles
• Essential tools and hive equipment
• How to safely inspect and read a hive
• Seasonal care and common pest awareness
• Honey harvesting basics and next-step resources

This workshop combines in-class learning with live, hands-on hive experience, so you won’t just hear about beekeeping — you’ll actually practice it.

Includes printed training materials, loaner tools to practice with, snacks and drinks each session, and small-group instruction. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the foundational skills and confidence to kick off your own beekeeping journey and continue learning with clarity instead of guesswork.
